Our Mission
Resolutely focused on providing training and resources to create positive environments for non-profits, vulnerable populations and businesses.
Pivotal Training & Facilitation started by providing person-centered training for non for profit and homelessness sectors. Ensuring that each member of the team and the people it supported had what was important TO them was a pivotal change before addressing what was important FOR them. . Pivotal Training & Facilitation is unique because it fosters values including self determination and equality, mutuality and empathy, recovery, and hope. This approach can take many forms, and it is important to remove unconscious biases and ensure everyone is standing equal to another.
To date Carrie has provided training, supports, and consultation to 46 different communities across Canada and the United States. She most notably gets call backs for Person Centered Intensive Case Management, Building Strong Person-Centered Teams, and Case Notes and Documentation. She believes strongly in accepting all people with their unique diversity.
Carrie’s own trauma, homelessness and journey of recovery have had huge impacts on the work she does to continually advocate and work to end homelessness. Her combined formal education along with lived experience has given an insight that means she can see things through many different lenses.
