I was thrilled to have Carrie in for the person-centered training in the first place, but every step of the way she impressed me more and more. Carrie is organized, detailed, supportive, and has a million and one tips and tricks for a successful business. It has only been a few weeks since the workshop, but I already see a huge shift in my employees’ involvement with their jobs and with their interactions with the clients. They are striving to work together, learn new things about their clients and keep track of what they learned. We have even used the 4 + 1 tool with success to work through a tough scenario. I can already tell this perspective of learning and leading works! Thank you Carrie.”

The very next day after our workshop, it hit me in the head. My pastor’s wife at church fell and couldn’t get up, bumped and bruised. The fire dept. came and provided lift assist. Me, with my caretaker, fix-it mode thought, “She should go home to sit and rest.” But her husband said, “No, she was okay to walk.” I still thought, “Okay, then she could walk at home and be more mobile.” Despite my good intentions, I realized he was right. What was important To Her was to stay at Church and attend the service. What was important for her was to not limit her independence physically. This immediate realization of how that line of thinking relates to my everyday life was an amazing aha moment for me. I am very appreciative of the class Carrie provided to us and deeply feel that I have learned a lot about myself and how I can help those around me with more personalized care.

I loved Carrie. I can’t think of enough nice things to say. She was personable, knowledgeable, and I liked how she included her own life experiences. I even use some of her person centered tools in my own life and they are working well.

I highly recommend Carrie Bartsch for training! We hired Carrie for two days of training and our team unanimously requested her to come back for two more days. Carrie provides the perfect mix of philosophy and hands-on tools to ensure that everyone leaves with something new. We will have her back for more training, guaranteed.
The training had the right amount of learning and hands-on application. I think we had MANY ah-ha moments throughout the room. What I really wanted to mention was the leadership portion of the case notes training, it was SO HELPFUL. We will be using the tool she developed across the agency. It was very needed for the whole team!

Carrie is amazing. She is very interactive with the participants and is always checking in to see how everyone is doing. She is very open minded, engaging, accommodating and respectful to individuals different learning styles. Really knew her material inside and out. Carrie has a great sense of humour, is positive, laid back, and puts those that she trains at ease quite quickly. She has a great mix of learning tools from slides, to activities, to handouts to group work. She is very flexible and able to adapt to situations that arise. Carrie is truly sensitive both to the behaviour and needs of each participant and to the group’s dynamics. Adjust her facilitation skills to meet the needs of the group but at the same time ensuring that “learning” and the tasks required are being completed.
As Carrie and I had discussions throughout the three days of training about my Indigenous culture and traditions, it was very apparent to me that Carrie is very well versed in the Indigenous culture and traditions and I for one would be more than comfortable having my people sit in training sessions with her. She is well rounded, respectful and more than anything if she wants to learn more about a particular topic, culture etc..she asks! I find this to be very honest and open approach.

Carrie Bartsch has a versatile and engaging style that balances a high level of professionalism with approachability. Carrie’s delivery has been a vital factor in increasing the level of engagement of staff in local training.
In addition to her style, Carrie has stood out among trainers in several ways:
Carrie seems to have an endless supply of very practical guides, forms and tools that can be used to support Homelessness service delivery. She has been very agreeable to sharing these with participants and Niagara Region staff, who have found them to be an invaluable resource. The training provided by Carrie has been extremely well received by participants. Among all trainers we have brought to Niagara in the last three years, including both CAEH trainers and trainers from other organizations, we have received by far the most requests to bring back Carrie to provide additional training, consultancy and support. Carrie is a trusted source of insight, ideas and advice related to Housing First, and our shelters. Many of us consider her to be a valued colleague and mentor.

Carrie was open to restructuring the training schedule to suit our community/agency needs and requirements.
The overall style of the trainer was exceptional. Carrie incorporated open, honest, transparent instruction and encouraged the same discussion from the participants in delivering the person- centred approach. When issues and questions arose they were answered professionally and when there was a question that could not be answered a class discussion was generated to pull ideas and strengths from other people who had experience in solving issues.
